Are the treatments safe?

Yes. In fact, chiropractic care is considered to be one of the safest and most natural treatments for musculoskeletal and neuromusculoskeletal issues.

Will my chiropractic treatment hurt?

No! Dr. Johns only performs natural and noninvasive chiropractic treatments. Because of this, not only are our treatments safe for people of all ages, but our patients actually look forward to their appointments with Dr. Johns. Why? Because their pain is either moderately or completely relieved after their treatment.

Are chiropractic treatments safe for kids?

Absolutely! Because kids are so active in their daily lives, and are often involved in recreational or competitive sports, many of them suffer from back and neck pain, stiffness or soreness. Here at Johns Chiropractic and Rehabilitation, our treatments are natural and noninvasive, so they are safe for people all ages—even kids!

I've had a chiropractic treatment--how long until I feel a different?

The truth is, this answer varies from person to person and largely depends on the condition that is being treated. With that being said, it is common for pain from recent injuries that are treated ASAP to be resolved within 3-4 treatments; pain from conditions lasting longer than three months, or chronic conditions, can be relieved in approximately 12 visits.

I hear popping noises in my joint during adjustments--is that normal?

Yes. During the manipulation (adjustment) of a joint, there are sometimes gas bubbles in between the joints, and when the joint is manipulated, the gas bubble releases. The “popping” noise you hear results from the pressure change in your joint, and there is generally minimal or no discomfort from this.

Do I need a referral?

No, you do not need a referral for an appointment. However, different insurance providers may require a referral in order for your treatments to be covered, so we recommend that you contact your insurance provider to find out this information.

Do Insurance companies cover chiropractic treatments?

Yes, most insurance plans include chiropractic care. However, because plans differ, we recommend that you contact your provider to confirm this. If you don’t have insurance, we provide affordable rates and flexible payment plans.

Are ongoing chiropractic treatments necessary?

This answer will depend on your chiropractic issue (or issues), health history and health goals. If you are suffering from a severe disorder or chronic pain, you will get the best results from consistent care, because ongoing treatments will help you manage your pain and prevent new issues from occurring. If your chiropractic issue and pain is less severe, we still recommend annual spinal checkups to keep your body healthy and happy.
