Dr. Theresa Johns graduated from Penn State University in 1994 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. For the following three years she worked in a variety of clinical settings including: cardiac rehabilitation, functional capacity and corporate fitness. She received her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Life University in Marietta, Georgia in December 2000. Upon graduation she interned in the field of biomechanics in Elko, Nevada where she applied theories of physics to the physiology of the spine.
In 2012, Dr. Johns became certified as a Chiropractic Sports Physician. She is an expert in the function of the human body during movement from high level athletics to everyday activities. She can help optimize athletic performance by applying an advance understanding of the muskuloskeletal function and performance enhancement. She focuses on total body wellness and reaching optimal functioning, not just relieving pain.
Dr. Johns was born and raised in the city of Philadelphia, where most of her family members still reside. Her spare time involves fitness-related activities such as hiking, softball, kick boxing, and strength training. Currently she is the sole practitioner at Johns Chiropractic & Rehabilitation, where she helps patients with a variety of health conditions including: sporting injuries, neck and low back disc injuries, whiplash, migraines, tension headaches, sciatica and low back pain.
“The best part about being a chiropractor is the personal connection with patients. Usually they come in for a specific problem or health concern. That is typically the gateway to a healthy lifestyle transition and hopefully the segue to a new member of our healthy community. And that’s the goal…building a community of healthy people, one patient at a time.”
